Flunarizine prescription: This medication is used to prevent migraine headaches. It is effective in reducing the frequency of migraine attacks and to a lesser extent, the severity. Take this medication by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once a day in the evening. It may take 6 to 8 weeks of continued treatment before the maximum effect of this medication is noted. SIDE EFFECTS: Drowsiness, weight gain, nausea, heartburn, dry mouth or anxiety may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, depression, muscle aches, tremor, difficulty moving, abnormal or uncontrolled movements (especially of the face or mouth).
